Somatic Experiencing® - SE - is a psychobiological method for resolving the impact of cumulative stress & trauma and restoring resiliency & wellbeing. It is a gentle, non-invasive approach that works with the body’s natural self-regulation system. The approach involves increasing awareness of stuck fight/flight/freeze system responses and supporting their completion. Through this process, SE has been found to restore self regulation capacity and an internal sense of wholeness, aliveness, coherency and ease. The method was introduced by Dr. Peter A. Levine, a body psychotherapist with over 40 years of experience and expertise in the field of stress and trauma.
